Antarctica - Under the Icebergs

SEE OUR REEL

Producing television in the most inhospitable environment on earth was indeed a challenge.  With a very limited budget, AVATAR Productions coordinated the expedition to Antarctica. Equipment and crew flew to Ushia Argentina, the most southern city in the world. (they call it “the end of the world”)

From there, it was a two day crossing by boat through 38 foot seas (the expedition vessel’s crew said it was a relatively calm passage)

That’s when the work really began!

Underwater DP Paul Jacobson emerges from under one of the many icebergs in Antarctica. A VERY DANGEROUS place to be!

Up close and personal with a Penguin

A little TOO up close and personal with a seal.  He started charging when he felt we were close enough.

Temperamental on-camera talent
