Press Release Beneath the Sea's 23rd annual Undersea Exposition and Dive Travel Show will be at the New Jersey Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, March 26, 27 and 28, 1999. This year Beneath the Sea will have almost 300 exhibitors from all corners of the world. There will be 50 seminars by specialists and experts, diving demonstrations, exotic destinations, social events, and workshops, to entertain, inform and excite the experienced diver, new diver, and non-diver equally. Almost 300 exhibitors representing the training agencies for scuba diving, and the major manufacturers of scuba equipment and accessories will be at Beneath the Sea. They are there to let you see, touch, talk about and, in some cases, even try their new products. For the Dive Traveler, Beneath the SEA is full-up with dive destinations, liveaboard dive boats, resorts, and airlines that will take you to far away places with strange sounding names. If you want to learn the newest in technique – digitally manipulating your underwater slides, catching-up to all that flash and dash on the Internet, or discover the latest in mixed-gas diving; Beneath the Sea will have over 50 seminars, exhibits, and workshops explaining the latest from the fields of scuba diving, oceanography, Northeast diving, wrecks, rescue, and all themes and variations of underwater photography. Saturday and Sunday will see The Great Shipwreck Debate at Beneath the Sea. Salvors, environmental conservators and Underwater Archeologists will go head-to-head on the subject of taking relics from wrecks, and even question whether diving on wrecks should be permitted.. For those divers who spend their time and money to explore the historic ruins beneath our seas this debate is a necessity. Every diver has an investment in this debate before wreck diving becomes a fond memory. Jean-Michel Cousteau heads a list of 50 distinguished speakers. Jean-Michel Cousteau, a remarkable and inspirational speaker and fine gentleman, will be presented with an award that recognizes his contributions to our oceans. Throughout Beneath the Sea Jean-Michel will be on hand to greet and speak with visitors to the show. He will also present the most recent of his long hit list of unique underwater films. On Sunday he will play an important role in Ocean Pals Sea of Sweets party for children. Also at Beneath the Sea will be Ralph White, the man who has made the most dives on the H.M.S. Titanic. Ralph will present some of the unique film footage he has shot, and tell some of the unusual, funny, and a few hair-raising tales of his experiences working underwater.
