TWA Flight 800  Premieres July 17 at 10PM

At 8:31 PM July 17th 1996, a TWA jumbo jet takes off from New York's John F. Kennedy airport, carrying 230 passengers. Just thirteen minutes after take off, the plane explodes in a ball of fire and careens into the Atlantic Ocean. Miles off the coast of Long Island, the ocean glows red as flames dance across its newly contaminated surface. Local boaters immediately try to assist rescue helicopters, combing the water for any sign of survivors. In the end, none are found.

Through the eyes of Long Island residents, police and reporters, MINUTE BY MINUTE: TWA 800 takes viewers on behind the scenes account of the tragic events of that  night as well as the days following the crash. Interviews with victims' family members and loved ones tell of a night that changed their lives forever
